It is with great excitement that I introduce the special guest who will sharing her creative talents with attendees of La Dolce Vita 2023.
I am incredibly excited to welcome Rebecca Sower back to La Dolce Vita 2023.
It was my pleasure to host her as my special guest at the 2018 La Dolce Vita, where she was a huge hit with my clients who gave her workshop rave reviews. I was overjoyed when she accepted my invitation to return this Fall.
In the late 90’s, early 2000’s, I discovered and fell in love with the hobby of scrapbooking/papercrafting and Rebecca was the first industry powerhouse who I fangirled hard for. Her use of texture, and the meaningful journaling she included on her pages, had me pouring over her magazine articles and dog-earing her idea books.
A few years later, I began working professionally in the industry and as the Sr. Creative Director for a company, I reached out and asked her to be a guest designer for us. Over the years our paths crossed several more times when we both taught at the same events – in fact we even roamed around Paris together post teaching in Versailles in 2008, what an adventure! – and soon a professional relationship became a friendship.
Although I first met Rebecca through scrapbooking, her artistic journey encompasses many different mediums. She paints, quilts, bakes, designs masterful fabric and stitchery collages, makes jewelry, and she and her potter daughter Erin Clemmons just wrapped up “From Hand to Heart: Creativity as Legacy”, an art exhibit at Carnegie Visual Arts Centre in Decatur, Alabama.
I know that attendees will fall in love with her gentle spirit and fun loving personality, as she leads us through her project.
You can see more samples of Rebecca’s artwork by visiting her Instagram account where she shares her creations on the regular, but here is a little taste!
