At Prone to Wander Retreats Inc., I channel my passion for exploring different cultures, love of arts & crafts, attention to detail, and extensive travel experience into immersive tours designed to inspire us as creative beings. These experiences are all about diving deeper into who we are and igniting our creative spark.
The path to founding this travel agency wasn’t exactly a straight line. But when I look back, I see how each twist and turn brought me here. From my first taste of international travel on a high school band trip, to a decade spent as Sr. Creative Director at a scrapbooking company, and teaching paper arts workshops worldwide - each chapter was a stepping stone, preparing me for this journey.
Since 2014, (barring the covid induced pauses of 2020 and 2021) in collaboration with a trusted travel agency, I’ve been hosting inspiring retreats for women - artists, food enthusiasts, antique aficionados, and creative souls from all corners of the globe.
In 2024, I took the next big leap and Prone to Wander Retreats officially became an incorporated, licensed travel agency, specializing in boutique creative lifestyle tours for women.
This is my passion, and I invite you to join one of my upcoming tours to get a taste of the Prone to Wander Retreats magic for yourself.
I adore the thrill of boarding a plane to a new destination, and took several international trips, some solo and some with my husband, each year (pre-covid).
Specializing in still life, product shots, travel photography, and capturing newborns, I am honoured to work for private clients and free-lance for a few publications.
Having spent more than 20+ years working professionally in the paper crafting industry, card making and scrapbooking are a huge love.
Whether it's linen bed sheets & kitchen towels, canapa blankets, monogrammed nightgowns, or handmade lace, I'm a sucker for antique European linens.
'Cause, hello! When you spend as much time in Italy as I do, access to amazing gelato is a welcome perk of the job!
There is something immensely gratifying about mixing and matching beads and findings and making something you want to wear.
Over the years I've purchased 7 chandeliers and 12 wall sconce chandeliers in Europe... one could say it's an addiction :)
Whether I'm enjoying Torino in the North, driving the narrow roads of Tuscany, or eating the cuccina povera of Puglia, I simply adore this country.
I fell in love with baking as a young girl who first made oatmeal muffins at my Mama's side. I make a mean pavlova, melt in your mouth sweet scones, and a coffee cake that was legendary in my husband's office.
I love the thrill of the hunt, and decorating my house with items I've purchased at antique markets visited during my travels brings me joy. Oh, and my wardrobe? No surprise, it's mostly thrifted too!
While I'm not an accomplished seamstress, I love to make small fabric bags, covered books and collages. I've inherited amazing sewing machines from my mom, so learning to sew properly is on my to-do list.
I've been married to my husband for 27 years and am even more crazy about him now than I was when we said "I do". He champions and encourages me to dream bigger than I dare and to have faith in myself.
