Celebrating Creativity and making meaningful connections to the local community are core values at La Dolce Vita. It is my honour to introduce you to the special guests who will be assisting to meet those goals at La Dolce Vita 2020.
La Dolce Vita will welcome a different special guest at each retreat, so please take note if you would like to attend the workshop of a specific guest.
Joining our May Retreat will be BROOKE LARK. She is a gifted photographer, recipe developer and content creator who daily offers encouragement and inspiration to her followers. She is both an innovator – hello, giving photos away for free on unsplash – and business mavin. Whether it’s using her talent to photograph for brands, co-editing a special issue of “Where Women Cook” magazine, or leading workshops, she is someone who lives a creative life. I know that attendees are going to leave her workshop inspired.
Brooke Lark hails from a 100-year old food photography studio located in the heart of Salt Lake City. A professional food photographer since 2006, she’s worked with clients like NBC Universal, Betty Crocker & Disney and is the author of 10+ cookbooks. Her work has been downloaded more than 200 million times across the globe. She loves coffee, pugs and has a passion for teaching people how to build and nurture their own creativity.

Joining our June retreat will be RAE MISSIGMAN. Rae is a creative maven who excels at so many creative disciplines that’s it’s insane! She is a painter, stitcher, mark maker, author and instructor who believes that everyone has the ability to be creative.
Rae Missigman, mixed media artist, author and instructor is known for her vivid colors, intricate layering and signature repetitive art marks.
As an artist, Rae believes that creativity can be accomplished in bite sized pieces during even the busiest days. She focuses on embedding her distinctive mark on each piece leaving no doubt of its creator. Watercolor is her latest medium where she is bringing her unique viewpoint and love of layering to sheer color and composition.
As an instructor, Rae strongly encourages all artists to trust themselves to fearlessly do what they love. She champions a bold voice, continuing education and finding inspiration in the everyday. Rae co-teaches the best selling workshop Pocket Journals that is as wildly popular today as it was two years ago proving that quality education never goes out of style.
Rae lives in central Florida within a large family of creatives. Her husband, Carl, is an integral helpmate who supports and encourages her crazy creative journey. She now shares her love of all things handmade with a new generation of young makers, her grandchildren.
Rae authored Paint Play Explore: Expressive Mark Making Techniques in Mixed Media which details her journey into Art Marks. Her work can be found in countless publications including Faber-Castell industry catalogs, Where Women Create, Somerset Life, Art Journaling, and Romantic Homes.
