Throughout our week together, we’ll enjoy a thoughtfully chosen collection of creative experiences designed to immerse us in the artistry, craftsmanship, hospitality, and beauty of southern Italy.

We’ll spend time learning from talented local artisans, exploring the traditions that have shaped this region, and enjoying opportunities to create with our own hands. From pottery, candle making, weaving, and a hands-on culinary workshop featuring traditional Salento recipes, to wandering local markets and enjoying a memorable afternoon along the Mediterranean coast, every activity has been carefully chosen to encourage creativity, connection, and delight.

One of the highlights of our week will be a visit to our hosts’ seaside property, where we’ll spend a leisurely afternoon by the water. Whether you choose to swim in the sea, sketch beneath an umbrella, curl up with a good book, or simply soak in the beauty of the coastline, this will be an opportunity to slow down and savor the simple pleasures that make Puglia so special. As evening falls, we’ll gather together for dinner at this magical property.

Because Cor Unum contains a faith component, our week will also include daily devotional reflections, opportunities for prayer and worship, and encouragement from our special guest, Danielle Kartes. These moments are intended to complement, not replace, the creative and cultural experiences that have long been at the heart of Prone to Wander retreats, offering space for reflection, gratitude, and spiritual renewal.

HERE IS A PREVIEW OF THE ACTIVITIES
INCLUDED IN YOUR RETREAT TUITION:

• An orientation walking tour of Nardo, our host city. This will give you a great knowledge base should you elect to wander into town during free time.

• A keynote address by special guest, Danielle Kartes.

• A visit to a small antique market.

• A hands on pottery workshop where you will make a vessel which will later be enameled by a local artisan and shipped home to you. 

• A tour of one of the most important weaving studios in Puglia, where we will see how the artisans are keeping an ancient tradition and regional patterns alive. After the tour, each guest will make a small weaving of their own to take home.

•  A visit to the Nardo weekly market, where you will find food, clothing, and housewares.

• A one of a kind dinner in the private residence at a historical Masseria where our host will  lead a conversation on Italian spirituality, faith, and the role of religion in shaping Italian culture. Together, we will explore how these traditions are expressed not only in beliefs and rituals, but also around the table.

• A candle making workshop where each guest will make one candle to bring home.

• A memorable afternoon and dinner at a Beach Club property owned by our hosts.

During free time you can also take advantage of the following actives, for an additional cost:

• A massage. Our Monastery has a small spa room and staff who can accommodate this request.
