Where you will stay

During your time at La Dolce Vita you will have the opportunity to experience authentic Italian country life. Our host estate, Borgo Personatina, is an Agriturismo with an Olive Oil production, located in the hills of Tuscany. Accommodations will be fulfilled by our retreat collaborator e20Toscani, a Siena based Italian travel agent.

About Borgo Personatina

The estate is an olive oil producing, family run farm located 14 km from the medieval city of Siena. Surrounded by its olive groves and located in the heart of a terrain dotted with forests, natural springs, and historical and artistic heritage sites, it has been declared a “Site of Community Importance” by the European Community. This hilly area has a forest of oak trees, holm oaks and broom called “La Montagnola.”

In this hamlet, surrounded by an uncontaminated landscape, you can feel history and atmosphere as you explore this beautiful land. The estate is currently an operating olive farm and has several apartments which will be our home away from home for the week.

About the Apartments

Each apartment is decorated in typical rustic Tuscan style with terra cotta tile floors, wooden beams and very thick stone walls (these buildings are hundreds of years old after all!). They also have a kitchenette and small living area.

And one of the apartments has a very large communal space (pictured below) that will become a gathering place where our group can laugh and visit throughout our week.

The apartments are typical for the region and do not have air conditioning. While it may get hot during the day, it cools down in the evening and the thick stone walls help insulate against the sun. Several of the rooms have ceiling fans and for those that don’t, we have portable fans which will be distributed if needed. And, of course, dips in the pool will help if things get too hot!

The Bedrooms

There are three options for your accommodations: Double rooms with shared bathroom, Double rooms with en-suite bathroom, and two single rooms with shared bathrooms. The shared bathrooms will be in the hallway of the apartments and will be shared, one bathroom for every 3-4 ladies.

In order to make your stay more comfortable, attendees will be provided bathrobes for their use during the week.
